It has long been said that gamblers and gambling are two things that can never really be taken out of society. Its true. Society in general is always after that elusive win, that chance at glory and the willingness to go far into a risk and chance everything. Thats gambling for you.

People gamble for two main reasons and it is simple for everyone to understand. One is for fun, the other is for profit. Some actually want both but there is a preference on what one wants and needs.

Gambling is a worldwide thing And there are many people that would rather gamble their afternoons away than spend it on a movie or a date. The lure of gambling is so great that it is called America's "past time".

One can actually imagine what a past time is and how so ingrained gambling has become in the past years since it was introduced into the United States while in its infancy stages.

One reason why gambling has been such a hit with people is that people see the money being wagered lost then suddenly re appear with almost double its value all in a span of a few hours. If something like that gets some attention from millions of viewers, it must be pretty potent.

Gambling can provide players with a pretty strong jolt of adrenaline and provide the so called "rush" that many people who are bored with life look for. For them, gambling replaces the rush that physical sports or activities bring. For some it is the ultimate drug.

Gambling is also seen as a status symbol in some parts of the world. Only by gambling can one say that one has made their mark in society and can continue to enjoy living well because of their excessive wealth.

The perception that gambling is a rich mans sport was beefed up when the movies and media began playing spy films that have portrayed everyone who plays in a casino as rich and well to do. Nothing is farther than the truth. Any average joe can play in a casino and doesn't need tons of cash to have a good time.

Casinos are designed to appeal to a broad market and also people from different social income levels. In short, there is a game for everyone.

The worse kind of gambling are those people that use gambling the wrong way and subvert it so that one can make a profit from them. Game fixing, game loading, these are just different names by what it goes by.

As society continues to expand, many people are bored with their routine in life and would want something new to look forward to and this is how gambling can be subverted to a darker side.

One has to remember that gambling is really about having fun and once the fun factor I as taken out, the act becomes hollow and meaningless.
